Welcome...
This is the Official website of the WMRC, The Wisbech Model Railway Club, or just 'The Club' as its refered to by its members.
Our club was formed in 2005 and aims to bring together people interested in Model Railways and would like to further their knowledge of the hobby and to build and operate club layouts.
We are based near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and meet every Monday Night (except Easter and Christmas Bank Holidays) at The Old Vicarage, Emneth. This was, between 1953 to 1965, the home of the Reverend W Awdry, author of the famous Railway Series of books depicting Thomas the Tank Engine.
So, What do We do?
We are currently building an end to end layout in 'OO' Gauge called HUNGATE BRIDGE. Our Club President has built his fantastic 'G' Scale layout in the garden, called THE DOVECOTE LIGHT RAILWAY and we have just commenced work on our next project in 'N' Gauge, as yet unamed, and also started work on extending our 'OO' Gauge layout further.
So, as you can see we are a very busy club, so why not come and join us?
Click the button to Join us or contact us for further details about membership.
Click the Dovecote Light Railway Totem above to read how this wonderful 'G' Scale Garden Railway was built in just 7 Weeks by our Club President Mark Thatcher.
The Railway was officially opened on Saturday 5th July 2008 at a special ceromony, a special blog of the event is now available. Click here to read all about it.
